Sameera Emal Wickramasinghe Gunasekera is the eldest of a family of 03 children. Emal was born to Earl Gunasekera and Sujatha Ranjani Gunasekara a reputed well established business family in the country. Although born admits the busy surroundings in Colombo his parents make sure that he enjoyed the culture and nature in Polonnaruwa where he experienced his first freedom of harmony . Emal Gunasekera received his primary and secondary education at Royal College, Colombo, an independent elite public boys’ school from year 2000 to year 2013.
Determination, hard work and discipline have been keys to his success. That has always been the guiding philosophy in Emal’s life with the motivation of his father. During his time at Royal College, Emal was a member of the Red Cross Society and an active member of the school Debate Team. Been an all-rounder with a mix of blended talents Emal became the Band Leader, a Scout and also a Prefect for the Royal College.
After excelling in his studies in Sri Lanka Emal migrated to Australia for the completion of Bachelor of Business in Economics and Management at Monash Business School ranking in the top business schools in the world, recognized as a school of influence, with the skill and knowledge to navigate the complexities of today’s global economy. He returned to his mother land in mid-2017 to take over the family business which has come from a humble beginnings to becoming the large business conglomerate it is today.
His proficiency in Administration and his relationship with community has contributed immensely not only to his vision but for the broadening of business .
